Re: Offer to Purchase 151 Ontario Avenue


As this matter deals with a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality it may be discussed in closed session as per Section 239(2)(c) of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Re: C. Patrie v City of Elliot Lake (Integrity Commissioner) - Award of Costs


As this matter deals with advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege it may be discussed in closed session as per Section 239(2)(f) of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Re: Interim CAO - Contract


As this matter deals with personal information about identifiable individuals as well as advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege it may be discussed in closed session as per Section 239(2)(b) & (f) of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Re: Amendment to By-Laws: Sign, Parking & Traffic, Taxi, Noise and Mobile Vendor and Peddlers


At the February 8th By-Law and Planning Committee meeting the following resolution was passed:


That the fee schedule of By-Laws: Sign, Parking & Traffic, Taxi, Noise and Mobile Vendor and Peddlers be amended by replacing the licence fees chart with the wording “Refer to the Municipal User Fees By-Law”;


And that Council pass the appropriate amending By-Law.

Re: Repeal By-Law 20-19 and 20-35, Being a by-law to promote and regulate physical distancing during the COVID-19 emergency.


At the February 8th By-Law and Planning Committee meeting the following resolution was passed:


That Council repeal By-Laws 20-19 and 20-35.

Re: Amending By-Law No. 22-100


At the February 8th By-Law and Planning Committee meeting the following resolution was passed:


That By-Law No. 22-100, being a By-Law to regulate animal control and ensure responsible pet ownership in the City of Elliot Lake, be amended to add the terms “Pound Keeper” and “Agency” and their definitions;


And that Council pass the appropriate amending By-Law.

Re: Amending By-Law No. 02-18


At the February 8th By-Law and Planning Committee meeting the following resolution was passed:


That sections 1.10, 1.22, 18.00, 18.01, 18.02, 18.03, 18.05, 23.06, and an addition of Schedule N to By-Law 02-18, being a By-Law to provide for the regulation of traffic within the City of Elliot Lake, be amended to reflect current language related to accessible parking and short form wording and set fines;


And that Council pass the appropriate amending by-law.  

Re: Canada Cultural Spaces Fund Application


At the February 8th Recreation and Culture Committee meeting the following resolution was passed:


That Council approve the submission of an application for the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund to subsidize the costs for equipment and renovations in the City’s arts, heritage, and cultural facilities.

Being a By-Law to appoint an Interim Chief Administrative Officer and to repeal By-Law 17-63. 

Being a by-law to enter into a build agreement with Canadian Ramp Company with respect to building the Elliot Lake Pump Track. 


To be brought forward to a future meeting of Council

Being a by-law to enter into an agreement with the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FEDNOR) with respect to the installation of a lift station on Fox Drive.

Being a by-law to enter into an agreement with Denis Gratton Construction Ltd. with respect to Hillside Drive Reconstruction Project.

Being a By-Law to amend Sign, Parking & Traffic, Taxi, Noise and Mobile Vendor and Peddlers By-Laws to replace the fee schedules.

Being a By-Law to amend By-Law No. 22-100, being a By-Law to regulate animal control and ensure responsible pet ownership in the City of Elliot Lake to add the definition of poundkeeper and agency.

Being a By-Law to amend the Parking & Traffic By-Law to amend wording for Accessible Parking.

Being a By-Law to Confirm the Proceedings of Council at its Meeting held on Monday January 15th, 2024.
